Candle Lighting

Candle Lighting הַדְלָקַת נֵרוֹת Hadlakat Nerot 

Light the candles, cover your eyes, and say: 

Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu Melech ha-Olam, asher kideshanu be-mitzvotav ve-tzivanu lehadlik ner shel shabbat. 

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, אֲשֶׁר קִדְּשָׁנוּ בְּמִצְוֹתָיו וְצִוָּנוּ לְהַדְלִיק נֵר שֶׁל שַׁבָּת. 

Blessed are You, LORD our God, King of the Universe, who sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to light the Shabbat light.
